Helpful healthy food is : flaxseed!

Today's helpful healthy food is : flaxseed!

This seed is full of Omega3's, Fiber, Lignans, protein and is gluten free. You'll want to buy it milled or grind it yourself so that your body can break it down and use all the goodies. It has a nutty flavor that I find pleasant and I use it in almost everything. It can be used as a replacement for eggs, butter and oil. It can also be used for burns, bursitis, carpal tunnel, constipation, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, IBS, menopausal symptoms, premenstrual symptoms, prostate health and psoriasis! Wowzaas!

My personal favorite use for flax seed is for making hair gel. It's cheap, easy, healthy for your hair, has a good hold and doesn't flake. Take about 1 cup of whole flax seeds and boil it in two cups of water. Stir it so it doesn't burn and when you see a snotty consistency, your gel is ready! The longer you boil, the thicker the gel. Strain it, put it in a container in the fridge and you're good to go for 3 weeks. I like to use essential oils in mine for the smell, healthy hair benefits and to preserve it a little longer. Rinse the seeds and reuse
